HOME OFFICE DEDUCTION FOR THE TRUCKING COMPANY

If the home office is the principal place business for administering and managing the trucking company, then this may be deducted from the taxes.

The home office must be in the main residence and be used regularly for business purposes. Your tax adviser can provide more information on this but essentially you will be able to write off costs like electrical, heating, Internet and other regular bills for a portion of your house that is considered your home office.

You will also want to track any actual expenses, such as a printer, paper, ink, PC costs and more that are used as part of your home office. If you use tablets, cell phone or other electronic devices while on the road, those can also be partially or completely written off.
