Our History
Hazen Transport was opened in 1992 as an affiliated company of Palmer Moving and Storage, a 100-year-old company founded by the Palmer family built on quality and value to its customers. Hazen Transport was established to expand on the same core values in home appliance delivery and general freight truck transportation for the retail industry, which is still today a major part of the Hazen client base.
Since its founding, Hazen Transport’s success and commitment to quality service delivery, efficiency and safety has allowed it to expand into dedicated truckload distribution for automotive and retail customers. Hazen stands apart from its competitors by offering an unwavering commitment to customer service and responsiveness, while creating a true family atmosphere and culture for its employees and roster of independent drivers. A testimony to this is the lack of turnover, with a majority of its employees having been with the company since its inception.
Management and Company History
1910 – Palmer Moving founded by Robert Palmer Sr.
1954 – Robert Palmer II becomes President of Palmer Moving and Storage
1978 – Richard Palmer becomes President of Palmer Moving and Storage following death of his father, Robert Hazen Palmer
1986 – Palmer Moving and Storage acquires P & B Warehouse and McGregor Cartage
1986 – Jeff Palmer named president of Palmer Moving and Storage
1992 – Hazen Transport founded by Richard Palmer as an affiliated company of Palmer Moving and Storage
1996 – Palmer Moving and Storage divests itself from P & B and McGregor Cartage
2005 – Hazen Transport spins off from Palmer Moving and Storage to become wholly independent company. Richard Palmer named President/CEO
